KMC fails to launch anti-encroachment operation in Karachi's Saddar area

Anti-encroachment was postponed after successful negotiations between DC South and shopkeepers.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The anti-encroachment personnel of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) could not launch operation against encroachments around the Empres Market in Saddar area of Karachi, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the anti-encroachment was postponed after successful negotiations between DC South Irshad Ali and shopkeepers of Empress Market and Bara Market.

After the five hours long negotiations between shopkeepers and DC South, the shopkeepers were given a few days to vacate the premises.

KMC anti-encroachment personnel, who were equipped with heavy machinery, also left the area after the operation was postponed while the shopkeepers also ended their sit-in protest.
